One of the largest grid (gas & electricity) operators in Europe, with over 40 development teams, has the strategy to implement changes fast while retaining quality. During their journey they faced the following challenges:

• The increasing demand from the business wanting to change and release faster

One of the largest Energy suppliers from Europe was struggling to ensure the organizations’ security due to the increasing reliance on legacy systems and the ever-increasing complexity of the intertwined architecture. DevOn created a Security approach including our Continuous Software Security Maturity model, coaching and training. The number of bugs was reduced by more than 55%, the teams had an increased awareness for security issues and the delay time at all the releases was reduced to 0 minutes.

A large European energy supplier noticed that they were spending a lot of time on manual testing and fixing bugs in their SAP services. On average, they needed a full week to perform this work in their 3-week release cycle. The customer asked DevOn to help automate (part of) the testing process and speed up their software delivery. Based on the assessment, DevOn saw an opportunity to improve the software quality and reduce the time-to-market. Therefore, DevOn created a framework to enable automated Unit Tests in SAP. As a result, the number of bugs was reduced with 65%, 92% less time is being spent on fixing bugs and the customer’s CICD team is now able to roll out this approach to their own teams.
